This is it folks!!! The last of the SIGNET Family Nights will be held on Wednesday & Thursday this week, May 6th & 7th, from 5:30 – 6:30pm. These evenings are the last opportunity for you to come in with your child and review all of the work your child has accomplished in SIGNET this year. Children enjoy showing their parents their work and explaining what they have learned during this informal session. Please see the date for your school below:

Remember, these are problems that you (the student) can work on without assistance from parents or classmates AFTER your regular homework. When you think you have an answer, you can post it in a comment below the problem. When we let you know you’re correct, please be prepared to explain how you got your answer. Good luck!!

Jenn’s fish tank was filled half way. She added 9 gallons of water to the tank and found that it was then 7/8 full. How much water can the tank hold altogether?

We have just discovered that the UVA website for the Saturday Enrichment Program has not been updated from last year. The postmark deadline for applications is the 14th of November. I have included below the information and forms needed to apply for the program. This Saturday morning program will be held at Highland School in Fauquier County.

The link for the enrichment program through UVA is working intermittently as they deal with server issues. I am looking forward to how much we will be able to share with each other in the blog. This is going to be a great learning experience for all of us. Just think…8 different classes from 2 grade levels and 2 different schools sharing ideas! Put on your seat belts, keep your arms inside and enjoy the ride!!

Thank you SO MUCH to the dad that helped keep me straight!!! Evidently, I gave out the WRONG URL for the blog log-in. Thankfully, a lot of students experimented with other extensions. In the letter that was sent home, I said the site to log-in was:

While we think the name Future Track is acceptable, we think our SIGNET students could come up with something MUCH better. To that end, we are starting a Name The SIGNET Blog contest!!
